Greetings from - Dr. Neeta Mahesekar, Ph.D.

I, Dr. Neeta Mahesekar, am pleased on assuming the charge of the Director of North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy (NEIAH), Shillong, Meghalaya. It is an honour and privilege for me being given the mantle of the Director of NEIAH by the Ministry of AYUSH.

The NEIAH Shillong is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. It is the only national institute of India which provides medical education for two streams namely Ayurveda and Homoeopathy. It is situated in Mawadiangdiang adjacent to North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Science (NEIGRIHMS).

This institute is designed to facilitate the promotion of healthcare in Ayurveda and Homoeopathy. Along with providing medical education, it also imparts hospital services for both the streams. The Hospitals provide both OPD and IPD services along with diagnostic and laboratory services. The Institute will make sincere efforts to document local health traditions and validate their practices for providing affordable healthcare to all sections of the society.

It is my sincere hope and belief that in future students and the officials of NEIAH, Shillong shall bring pride and glory to the Institute and the country and cater to the needs of healthcare facilities though Ayurveda & Homoeopathy in India. I am committed to devote my services for the successful establishment of this National Institute, and its dedication to the public at an early date.,/p>
