Department of Kayachikitsa
Introduction:
This Subject is mainly concerned with the principles and methods of treatment of all diseases, primarily of endogenous origin, engendered by impaired nutrition and metabolism.
he department of Kaya Chikitsa, North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy (NEIAH) is concentrating on academic activities i.e. theory & clinical classes for the students of Kayachikitsa in accordance with the syllabus and curriculum prescribed by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and as adopted by the North East Hill University (NEHU), Shillong as well as regularly providing out-patient and in-patient services in the hospital.
This Department is also imparting Research on various diseases through Ayurvedic principles of treatment and therapy as per the demand of the current disease burden. This department also conducted clinical research on COVID-19 through Ayurveda medicines (both prophylaxis and therapeutic). The department of Kaya Chikitsa periodically organizes CME/Seminars/workshops for Kayachikitsa teachers/ Medical Officers/ Students. Also organizes disease-specific Health awareness programs.
